Fr Christopher Zaferes

Fr Christopher grew up in a family deeply rooted in the Orthodox Christian faith. Growing up in a household with a father who is also a Greek Orthodox priest, his life was enriched a connection the the life of faith. He pursued his religious education at the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in Boston where he met his future wife and partner in life. They currently have two children. Fr Christopher was mentored by two prominent Metropolitans of the Orthodox Church - Metropolitan Gerasimos of San Francisco, who ordained him to the diaconate, and Metropolitan Sava of Pittsburgh, who ordained him to the priesthood. Fr Christopher began his clerical ministry as an assistant in Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Columbus, OH. Upon completing almost four years in that role, he has taken up the leadership of our community here in Saint Nicholas in Lorain.
